Also, I told myself I'd be better at making posts, so here's a muddled Monday one because my head is all full of wizards.
So... bullet points!

• You will be able to tell that the pacing for this one is much better than some of the installments that have come before it.
• I honestly don't remember laughing so much during a HP movie. (which is just WEIRD considering the book...)

So, now I fall over and sleep. (and resist the temptation to make a certain party dress. XD)

Through a bizarre set of circumstances involving spoilage rates of food, I had to make a quiche tonight. It had bacon and Swiss and came off very nicely.

The spoilage rates is not as bad as it sounds. I bought pie shells for pecan pie, but didn't make it. So I decided to make quiche. Then I got all the stuff for quiche, showed up to make it, and discovered the pie shells had gone bad. So now I had everything but the pie crust. So now I had to buy pie crust lest all the other stuff go bad, so I did that.

(Nick is laughing at me because I always turn to cooking as a fun creative hobby whenever costuming becomes "work.")

Things I want to make after August:
A robe a la francaise
A robe a l'anglaise
A Russian-style classical tutu (Debating a non-pancake version. We'll see when the tutu-making books get here.)
Some little 60s dresses to wear around for real life

OMG it's like finally done!!!!!!!!! (But am pretty sad it was over so quickly too! TwT)

Lacry-OW-MY-SIDES-mosa  : for being my life savior!!! *hughughughughug* Thank you for your willingness to house me during my entire stay in SG, tending to all of my last-minuteness for my guitarbelt strap and awesome belt buckle *blingbling* (that section is totally dedicated to you!!! 8DDD) and taking me about town! Shopping for clothes together was fun, let's do it again!
I'm really sorry that we had a few rows at each other due to stress+misunderstandings+tiredness (._____.) I hope you can forgive me (;____;)

Been planning this event's cosplay for over a span of 6 months (or more), and it was all over in a flash! Pretty much everything was a blur during the event itself as there were stuff I was worrying (and OCD-ing about) during the pre-event and the 1st day. 

As for starters - I reallyreally, REALLYREALLYREALLY wanted to re-cosplay Mylene Jenius from Macross 7 because the last time I did it for AFA08 my dearest+I couldn't rush the guitar in time T_T And the only possible event I could redo this was a Singapore con (for obvious reasons lololol 8DDD) Having said that, even when I had so much time to prepare, we still rushed everything just before I left for SG LOLOLOLOL oTL *superbadhabit*

Back to why I started worrying+OCD-ing, my casual version was totally not done (dolphin pattern not cut out+heat&bonded), my wig's fringe was in a terrible tangly mess, boot cover base was totally spoilt (doesn't help that I left the whole pack of vinyl at home AND LOST IT AFTER ARGHS MY VINYL TAT)

Okay okay real report here :

1st day
- 8am : Called up Amano via Lac's phone to ask if it was okay if he cosplayed casual Basara alone cos my pattern CMI, and he sounded sorta dissapointed over the phone, so I decided OKAY NVM I GO GAMBATTE. So I traced (10 mins)+cut (2 mins)+ironed on dolphin pattern on both sides (8 mins). Total time taken = 20 mins. I think I broke my record on fastest item done (although I OCD-ed on this the longest, the hell @___@)
- A few people actually came up and asked if we were from Macross 7 (though I think it was because they recognised Basara Nekki more than Mylene TwT)
- OMG STAGE SHOTS GET! We stole the stage lighting for a while around the end of day 1 of Cosfest 8D It was like reliving Macross 7 Dynamite OVA 8DDD Thanks for the shots, photogs!
- Shouting "FIRE BOMBER!" and having the ppl below the stage respond to it by clapping and shouting it back to us is one memory I'll never forget <3
-Found out the Basara guitar was not finished painted and Scorio (the guy making his guitar) ran out of paint D8 Frets+pickup were not made yet, and he had no guitar strings. D8 But since a Basara Nekki without his epic guitar is like fish out of water, so both of them spent the entire night painting the guitar.

2nd day
- Went over to Amano's chalet in the morning so we could rush Scorio to finish up Basara's guitar >DDD Frets were still not done yet, so I cut up balsa strips and stick it on. Worked like a charm!
- Scorio helped to put some rubber glue on the pink vinyl+base of my boot covers. Totally non-slip after, yes!
- We finally got into our gear and finished at 3.55pm. oTL Darn wig was so hard to put on with the ears+headband.
- EPIC ALL THE WAY 8D


ORZ moments :
- Muscle ache from all the jumping/leg+arm lifting/smiling poses T^T
- Accidentally left the packet of vinyl+patterns at McDs shortly after receiving it from tokiya T__T argh really angry with myself!!! *kick stupid self *

SEE YOU ALL BACK HOME!!!

For a change in the usual rotation of everyday mail, I requested booklets concerning vacationing information for the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). I may not necessarily go on any vacations in these states due to my own reasons, but it was something fun to expect in the mail.

Today, I received Vermont's vacation booklet. Browsing through it, I realized that I love everything that the Vermont vacation booklet tells me the state represents:

1) Old fashioned New England charm. I'm sure it's there somewhere in the state, inside the many antiquity bed-and-breakfasts, by-passes, and covered bridges and among the rolling mountains and forests home to native animals.

2) Environmentally sound practices and facilities. The wave of providing green products and services within the last year have made me a very happy person, as I've always appreciated and strived to be as environmentally friendly as possible

3) Apple cider. Oh, how I love apple cider. You may believe the rumors that Vermont can only offer you maple syrup, but you are incredibly wrong. Not only does this state provide delicious ice cream and coffee, but apple cider is in its roster of tasty culinary delights as well.

4) The absence of a city's bustle. Living close to a city as historical and cultured as Boston is a fortune I'm lucky to have, but the chance to have serenity in a suburban or rural setting is quite appealing, whether permanent or temporary. Sort of like the evening nap after a long day of work: well deserved and utterly refreshing, with the gamble that you can either wake from the nap or sleep through the night.

Perhaps Vermont is none of these things, but that doesn't matter to me at the moment. All I know is I'm in love with this state, and until something else more promising comes along, I'll be dreaming of sipping apple cider in the quite atmosphere of a time forgotten.

you guys I went to a water park yesterday and they don't let you in if you have a tattoo because they think you are Yakuza lolz but we saw a girl with a giant bandaid on her shoulder and you could tell it was just to cover a tattoom, sneaky sneaky!

okay so the real point of this entry is that I had a dream last night that mostly involved the Jonas Brothers, and I think it was because when my friend got a haircut last night, I spent the entire time looking at Japanese mags full of pretty people and new TV shows that are out, one of which is JONAS (MY FAVORITE SHOW). Okay so anyways it was basically that we were at Obama's inaguration (lol sp? there is no spell check in IE) and it was in a big like... carpeted room okay it makes no sense, but he was up on a balcony, and the Jobros were they sitting up front, and Mariah Carey gave a concert to celebrate, and she sang some song about roommates and random things, and then kidnapped someone's child, it was weird, but Joe (the middle one) was like OMG THIS IS THE BEST SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE and basically became obsessed with the song, and couldn't get it out of his head, and he'd call up radio stations to win tickets and they'd go "WHO'S YOUR ROOMMATE!" and he'd go "MARIAH CAREY!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then fall back down on his bed all love sick and his brothers were like :| and I'm pretty sure he didn't actually win tickets. I don't know why I would even dream about this stuff?? whatever, I need to go buy more Pikachu related things.

today we are going to see a lifesize Gundam and then going to Tokyo Disney, I can't wait! I want to wear my schoolgirl costume but Nana refuses to be seen in public with me :( BUT I WILL FIGHT.

HAHA NANA'S MOM JUST CAME HOME AND FOUND ME SITTING ON THE COMPUTER IN MY PIKACHU COSTUME LOL OOPS

oh now she gave me grape juice but the carpet is white along with the chair cushions...........

I hate my job sometimes.

I'm looking around for a styled Nia wig for the upcoming convention Ikasucon '09. All of the pretty one's that I'd like to buy on eBay are being bought, and it's hard to get the money before the time is up. I don't want to result to buying a horrid wig to do with for the time being. Anyone got any Nia wigs lying around they don't want anymore?

Friday - Sum 41/Offspring concert.
Totally kicked my ass and bruised me to hell, was sooooo worth it!
The camera survived the moshing (it was in my bag) no prob, but a box of mints was bent/dented like O_o'

Saturday - "reverse day" of crazy-fun aka "Codename: Shenanigans"
Needed help un-breaking the zipper to get INTO MY DRESS, then we watched a fun musical [tapdancing seagulls are still very much glee], had Dessert Truck (warm choco-bread pudding drowned in custard while hiding in phonebooth from the POURING RAINS .... rather amazing actually) ending day with oooooh so yummy dinner

Sunday - start with desserts and tons of balloons! (yes my inner 5 year-old dove right into that), then get ribs [frootloop pancakes!] & SciFi's "Eureka" catching up
followed by CRISSY'S WEDDING! The words to describe this lovely event... I lack them
Just gonna highlight the opening ("thats what you get for inviting cosplayers....") and middle "so Crissy....all your friends would like to tell you something very special..." *bells bells bells*)

Slowly getting home earlier and earlier from work. :D Got home around 6 a.m. today! :D

Am packing up stuff to take over to Squeak's tomorrow when I stay the night and hang out on Wednesday over there. Hopefully I can get a bunch done on Rydia while I await his arrival home. ; P And more done after we run errands.

My paycheck Friday will be stupendous after all of this. <3

And lastly, I NEED TO WRITE CHECKS FOR BILLS. This is more of a huge reminder to myself to get them in the mailbox before work.

The dismissal of Sonya Sotomayor's "latina judge" comment bothers me. I hear over and over again how it was "taken out of context," or "poorly phrased," or "better understood within the framework of the entire speech." I'll be honest, I've never looked at the text of the entire speech, but I understood her comment just fine. And she's right. ( So why can't we just say that? )

I was feeling nostalgia for our London trip and needed some chicken korma. <3
Mitch took me to Tandoori Grill. We tried the lamb naan and Old Monk Indian beer tonight, too... both were great. I like a strong flavored beer. I love the sauce on their korma so much that I get extra rice to make sure I use up all the sauce. XD

Wore my Queen union jack shirt with my regimental stripe Metamorphose skirt. The boots are from Sheik, which has pretty affordable trendy shoes in my size! <3 (size 11) (thanks TrueMee!)

Who wants to put money down on how many costumes isshinsarutobi will end up making this year? I'm taking bets here.
